CALL FOR STUDENT POSTER SUBMISSIONS FOR 2023 FPA VIRTUAL CONVENTION- OPEN
The Florida Psychological Association of Graduate Students (FPAGS) is sponsoring a virtual poster session at the FPA Convention on September 22-23, 2023. We are seeking poster proposals that challenge attendees to disrupt barriers to access and care.
The way we practice has been tremendously impacted by a global pandemic that altered all healthcare systems. It led to closures of physical office locations for psychologists and other mental health clinicians across the state and country, and a catastrophic loss of life across the world. As we look forward as a profession, it is critical we continue fighting systems of oppression that further perpetuate xenophobia, racism, anti-Blackness, anti-LGBTQ+ policies, and discriminatory practices that harm our profession and the patients we serve. Those working with minoritized communities are seeing an increase in mental health challenges that are a direct result of efforts to silence and limit the care provided to vulnerable populations. The 2023 FPA Virtual Convention will be disruptive, enlightening, and will provide resources for eliminating barriers and examine ways for us to stay relevant in a changing clinical world.
FPA and FPAGS truly values the amazing posters we have seen year after year at our conventions. We strongly believe in centering the work of our graduate students, predoctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows.
